Lisää ääniä

Immediately after the first idea for the sound art piece, I got another one.
FISH’S NIGHT SONG
The Fish’s Night Song is a visual poem written by Christian Morgenstern in 1905, that consists of little curves and lines. Like this:
I think it has a distinct sound. I could try and create it!
In high school we had a performance of the poem, where we made bubbly sounds. It was great fun.
At school I got a third idea.
CONFLICT BETWEEN SOUND AND SIGHT
It could be fun to create a piece with mismatching images and audio.
I’m kind of stuck between these three ideas.
Should I just get a move on and see what happens?
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Minun mielestä tekemällä oppii/syntyy ideoita, siis suoraan toimintaan vaan. Tosin siinä käy monesti niin, että saa monesti aloittaa alusta, aikaa kuluu ja tupakkaa vaan ethän nää polta.

my feeling is to continue exploring the synesthesia concept … start playing with the idea and the various sonic possibilities … see what starts to get you immersed and excited! :) The reason is that ’why no’?? … and for you it seems completely new to be exploring how and what could be composed and created as a sound piece. It is also an intriguing topic! :)
But of course, if you are not that interested any more then you should do something else ..

So … :) … how is it going with your sound sound ideas … ? :)

Aahhh, I’m so sorry I didn’t answer you sooner! I only noticed your message yesterday evening when I was making a new post to my blog, and I was practically dozing off, so I didn’t have the energy to write an answer. But I’m awake now :D
I ended up going with the first idea, as you already know, but I’m definitely going to try and create something completely different with the sounds I’ve recorded. Too bad I only have Audacity to work with. I mean, it is a good program, but for a visual person like myself, the UI is a bit… technical, you know? I’ve used Audacity since 2011 and still don’t quite know how to properly use it. But I usually get the hang of new softwares by just clicking and trying stuff. Talk about serendipity!
Perhaps some of the programs you mentioned in class are a bit more visual. Could you give me the names?

great! :)
I think the easiest, and its on the macs at oamk! … is garageband – you will be able to do pretty much everything i think.
drag some audio in … :)

Alright, maybe I’ll give it a go! Thanks for the tip :D
